The Mission of Agricultural and Biological Engineering (ABE) as a profession is to combine technical, biological and human engineering in a well balanced way. The skills of ABE profession are needed everywhere when natural resources are used and processed to serve the welfare of the mankind.

40% projected increase in world population by 2030 will add 2 billion people to the planet. Growing world population requires more food, water, energy and goods. Limited resources demand we do more with less, without degrading our natural world. ABE is needed to ensure that growing population has:

• Safe and abundant food and water
• Timber and fibre for shelter and clothing
• Plentiful and renewable energy resources
• A healthy environment in which to live
